Erase the Misconception of a Double Life

People are of the perception that, there is a need to separate your sacred life from your social life but it should not be the same with us Christians.

“Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.”
Matt 22:15-16

The Pharisees realized Jesus was one who had the same stand whether in social life or in sacred life. He did not change his opinion about an issue no matter where he was.

Some people decide to act sanctimonious in church and act just like the worldly people when they are out of church.

If you have the perception that there is a sacred life and a social life, you will have it wrong in life.

What you perceive is what you receive and what you receive is what you are made up of and what you are made up of is your attitude; if your perception is wrong your attitude will be wrong.

May we uphold and pursue what is sacred in all our endeavors.

As a Christian if you have a perception of a sacred life and a secular life, it gets to the point where your secular life takes over your sacred life.

Service with Integrity – A True Story

A group of ministers and I were attending a funeral. On our way, I saw a policeman taking money from the driver of the vehicle ahead of us. When our vehicle got there, one Anglican bishop said to him “service with integrity” which is an inscription on their cap.

If this police man is a Christian, what it means is that, he lives a sacred life in church and a secular life out of church.

What happens with such people is that, if for instance, they become leaders in the church, their secular life gradually crawls out and it becomes a big problem to the church.

May our sacred lives and our secular lives be together in the light of God’s Word.

AMEN.
