Today, marks the 13th day of the forty(40) days of prayer, fasting and alms giving for Spiritual awakening.
Bible text for reflection is Romans 5:12-21
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Brethren, let’s reflect on the root of our challenges as humanity and the remedy provided through the sacrificial death of one man.
The text before us reveal the damage the 1st Adam caused humanity through disobedience. It is clear from the text that the first Adam;
- Ruined the life of humanity (condemned)
- All humanity became sinful &
- Death had power over us.
This is because Sin came into the world through the disobedience of the 1st Adam. We have become the Adam of our time because sin has become so appealing and we are responsible for every sin committed. Humanity is stuck under sin, tyranny and the final result is death.
Second, the second Adam (Jesus the Christ) brought light (eternal life) into the life of humanity.
- Christ redeemed humanity
- All men became righteous through Christ Jesus and
- Deliverance reigned.
Obedience Over Disobedience
It is a great joy for humanity to know that Jesus’ obedience to be on the cross overcame Adam’s disobedience towards God.
It’s never too late for you to accept Jesus as your Lord and Personal Savior. You can have a new identity and a new destiny of righteousness and life in Christ.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, whose kingdom are you? the 1st Adam or the Final Adam (Christ)? Eternal life is given to all who accept him with a contrite heart.
Make the right decision now. Tomorrow May be too late.
Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life, no one come to the father except through him.
May the peace of God be with us all.
